15/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 12 November, the European Commission sent letters of formal notice to Hungary, Latvia, Romania, Sweden and Slovenia over their incorrect transposition of EU counter-terrorism rules, it said in a statement, including provisions that criminalise and punish terrorist-related conduct, such as travelling abroad to commit a terrorist act, returning to or moving within the EU for such activities, undergoing terrorist training and financing terrorism. These rules also make special provisions for victims of terrorism. Member States had to transpose them into national law by 8 September 2018. (SP)
