16/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Thursday 15 October that 21 cross-border journalism projects involving 105 media professionals from 17 countries would benefit from the Stars4Media programme, which is subsidised by the EU to the tune of €1.2 million. €1.5 million of EU funds have also recently been allocated to the Investigative Journalism for Europe (IJ4EU) programme, the institution says. New calls for proposals are also expected by the end of the year, according to the Commission. The EU is currently supporting ten programmes to monitor media pluralism and freedom and to support journalists with almost €7 million of EU funding.
