16/10/2020 (Agence Europe) – The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, François-Philippe Champagne, met by videoconference on Thursday 15 October to discuss a number of issues of common interest, including Nagorno-Karabakh, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Alexei Navalny affair, Belarus, Venezuela and China. Champagne told EUROPE that the EU and Canada want “to strengthen transatlantic relations”. “We want to do more together, with a strong voice”, he added, underlining the cooperation, coordination and good understanding between the two parties. “The High Representative and the Minister agreed to remain in close contact, with a view to maintaining and strengthening the good cooperation between the EU and Canada”, the EEAS underlined in a statement.
