Public consultation on implementation of EU rules on electronic identification

On Friday 24 July, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the application of the eIDAS Regulation (910/2014), which since 2018 has provided a framework for cross-border electronic identification, authentication and certification of websites within the EU (see EUROPE B11127A12).

The European institution wants to gather opinions from stakeholders - businesses and citizens - on the effectiveness of European rules, and to test the advisability of a legislative review taking...
