22/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European institutions are expected to meet again on Thursday 25 June for a new negotiation meeting on the draft regulation establishing a centre of expertise on cybersecurity. This is a new departure on this text, which provides for the creation of a centre for the pooling of investment in research, technology and industrial development in the field of cybersecurity and for financial support under the Horizon Europe and Digital Europe programmes (see EUROPE 12095/18, 12437/4). As a reminder, two trilogues had already been held a year ago, before the interruption of the negotiations at the request of the EU Council, which wanted clarification. At this stage, Member States left two questions open, namely the seat of the centre and the voting arrangements (see EUROPE 12500/9). (SPj)
