22/06/2020 (Agence Europe) – Should the 2011 recommendation on the digitisation of cultural material and digital preservation be amended? This is essentially the question posed by the European Commission in its public consultation on the opportunities offered by digital technologies for the cultural heritage sector. The consultation, which draws in particular on the experience of the Notre-Dame fire in France and the benefits of digitisation demonstrated during the coronavirus crisis, is open until 14 September 2020. It is addressed to all stakeholders, from citizens to public administrations and cultural heritage management institutions. Link to consultation: https://bit.ly/3hS5Oc8 (SPj)
