08/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 July, the Council of the European Union formally objected to the delegated regulation on the deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems C-(ITS). This objection thus confirms the position of the Member States' ambassadors to the European Union (Committee of the Permanent Representatives - Coreper) of 4 July (see EUROPE 12289/8). Twenty-one Member States then spoke out against this act put forward by the European Commission in March (see EUROPE 12213/37), which aims to improve road safety by allowing vehicles, among other things, to communicate with each other and with infrastructures. It will therefore not have been approved in the end, despite the green light from the European Parliament on 17 April (see EUROPE 12238/6). (LT)
