08/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – In May 2018, the European Commission initiated an anti-dumping proceeding against imports into the European Union of hot-rolled steel sheet piling originating in China (see EUROPE 12028/28). This was initiated on the basis of a complaint from the association of European iron and steel producers, Eurofer, alleging significant distortions driving domestic prices down. This complaint, filed on behalf of two European producers, representing 100% of the total production of these products in the EU, was withdrawn on 11 April 2019. On 4 July, the Commission decided that the investigation could be terminated, as there was no evidence that such termination would not be in the Union's interest. (HD)
