Věra Jourová in Chile and Argentina to review data protection after agreement with Mercosur

08/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commissioner for Justice, Věra Jourová, was in Chile on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 July, before travelling to Argentina on 10 and 11 July to take stock of data protection. "The visit follows the conclusion of the EU-Mercosur trade agreement (see EUROPE B12285A5) and will focus on improving cooperation on data flows, advocating for strong convergence of data protection regimes", the Commission said in a statement.
