08/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – Since the 2013 reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), administrative costs related to the CAP have not increased significantly for farmers, accounting for only 2% of total aid received, according to an external study published on Monday 8 July by the European Commission. However, the reform has led to an increase in the administrative burden for administrations in EU countries. For administrations, the administrative costs of the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) represent about 3% of the annual CAP budget. The study recommends taking into account the administrative costs of Member States' interventions in future post-2020 CAP strategic plans and encouraging the use of digital technologies.
