08/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission welcomed on Friday 5 July that Hungary had joined, the day before, two flagship European cooperation initiatives related to cultural heritage and a quantum communication infrastructure respectively. These initiatives have taken the form of declarations. The first - co-signed by all Member States except Croatia, Denmark and Germany - suggests the use of 3D technology to model data and knowledge of cultural heritage and store them in a European directory (see EUROPE 12232/15). The second - co-signed by Belgium, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands and Spain - aims to create a quantum communication infrastructure (QCI) within ten years (see EUROPE 12274/13).
