27/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission launched a public consultation on Wednesday 26 June to seek views from Member States and interested parties on the potential exemption from prior Commission scrutiny, under EU State aid rules, of aid granted through national funds for projects supported under certain EU centrally managed programmes. This would include extending, subject to conditions, the application of the General Block Exemption Regulation to national funds used for operations supported by the InvestEU Fund, research, development and innovation projects that have received a label of excellence under Horizon Europe and projects within the framework of European territorial cooperation. The parties have 3 months to give their opinion. The Commission aims to adopt a text in this respect on the occasion of the entry into force of the multiannual financial framework 2021-2027.
