27/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 27 June, the Council of the EU extended economic sanctions against Russia, by written procedure, for 6 months up to 31 January 2020, because of Russia’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements. These measures, first adopted on 31 July 2014 (see EUROPE 11133/2), and expanded in September of the same year (see EUROPE 11153A13), target the financial, energy, defence, and dual-use goods sectors. The Heads of State or Government agreed to this extension on 20 June (see EUROPE 12279/3). (CG)
