27/06/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 26 June in Geneva, the parties to the WTO Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) agreed to extend the deadline for formal acceptance of the agreement by the United Kingdom until February 2020. In February, they gave the green light to the United Kingdom's conditions of accession to this plurilateral agreement and gave London an initial six-month period to validate the agreement (see EUROPE 12204/19). At the same meeting, the parties also approved requests from Ecuador and the Philippines to become observers at the GPA. They heard from China, Russia, North Macedonia, the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan about recent developments in their efforts to join the GPA. (HD)
