23/04/2019 (Agence Europe) – According to a report by the EU Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) published on 16 April, Croatia has a suitable framework for official controls of high-quality agricultural products (and spirit drinks) (products with a registered designation of origin or a protected geographical indication). “Controls carried out on these products are implemented as planned and they are overall satisfactorily being carried out”, says the EU experts' report. However, they note that “for some products, certain elements are not included in the control plans”. These market controls are generally adequate for products manufactured in Croatia. “However, checks carried out on non-Croatian products are not equally effective”, the FVO asserts. (LC)
