26/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – The MEPs of the European Parliament's ‘transport’ and ‘industry’ committees approved (47 votes 'in favour', 12 votes 'against'), on Monday, 25 March, the provisional partial interinstitutional agreement reached on the night of 7-8 March between representatives of the European Parliament and the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on the architecture of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for the period 2021-2027 (see EUROPE 12210/5). It should be recalled that this is a simple partial agreement, since the budgetary component of the 2021-2027 CEF could not be finalised due to the ongoing negotiations on the post-2020 multiannual financial framework. The Member States' ambassadors to the European Union (Permanent Representatives Committee - 'Coreper') gave the green light to the text last 13 March (see EUROPE 12214/42). The Parliament in plenary session and the Council of the EU must now record their support for this partial agreement. (LT)
