26/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission has conditionally approved on Monday, 25 March, the acquisition by Danish Agro of Konekesko’s agrimachinery businesses distribution in Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania. Both companies are active in the markets and in the equipment and spare parts for agrimachinery businesses. Following the notification of the operation on 4 February, the Commission initially had concerns that the merger would increase prices and reduce the quality of services for forage harvesters and combine harvesters in Estonia. In response to the institution's concerns, the companies offered to divest Danish Agro's activities in the sale and distribution of machinery, equipment and spare parts of the agrimachinery businesses and in the supply of after-sales services in Estonia. Subject to compliance with these commitments, the Commission considered that the operation was compatible with EU competition law. (LT)
