26/03/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 26 March, MEPs adopted, by a show of hands, the report by Pascal Arimont (EPP, Belgium) on the regulation on territorial cooperation (Interreg) for the next multiannual financial framework 2021–2027. Given that no interinstitutional meetings with the EU Council have taken place, no changes have been made with regard to the January version. In general terms, the European Parliament increased the overall budget to more than €11 billion at constant 2018 prices, changed the distribution among the regulation’s various components, and notably strengthened co-financing and the maritime dimension (see EUROPE 12152/14). It will be up to the next Parliament to negotiate with the EU Council. (PH)
