22/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 22 February, Member States' ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) approved their position on the proposal for a regulation establishing emergency measures in the field of social security coordination (see EUROPE 12183). The objective is to preserve the social security rights of European citizens living in the United Kingdom and vice versa. These measures will only enter into force in the event of the United Kingdom exiting the EU without an agreement being in place. MEPs will discuss these measures at the next meeting of the European Parliament's Employment and Social Affairs Committee (EMPL) on Tuesday 26 February. (PH)
