Eamon Gilmore named as new EU Special Representative

22/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – Stavros Lambrinidis announced on Friday 22 February the name of his successor - Eamon Gilmore - as EU Special Representative for Human Rights, and wished him success in his mission. Mr Gilmore's appointment is expected to become official on February 28. The Irishman, the former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland, was the EU's Special Envoy for the peace process in Colombia (see EUROPE 11403).
