22/02/2019 (Agence Europe) – While progress has been made in the implementation of the 2015 Algiers Agreement, its pace should be accelerated, said EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and Mali's Minister for Social Cohesion, Peace and National Reconciliation Lassine Bouaré at a meeting in Brussels on Thursday 21 February. He was accompanied by a delegation of representatives of the movements party to the agreement. Ms Mogherini and her interlocutors emphasised accelerating progress in key political and institutional reforms - decentralization, constitutional reform, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of ex-combatants and security sector reform. "The importance of providing early and concrete peace dividends for the population in northern Mali” was also highlighted, according to the EEAS. (AN)
