16/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 15 March, the European Commission began a public consultation on the common rules for using aviation services, in view of a possible revision of Regulation 1008/2008. After carrying out an initial impact study on this text, the Commission identified several problems relating to competition, consumer protection, innovation and employment. In an effort to confirm or reject these conclusions, the Commission has therefore decided to invite individuals and interested parties to formulate their respective observations on the regulation. They have until 7 June to do so. Specific aspects of the text are also currently being debated at the Parliament and Council with a view to their revision (see EUROPE 11970).
