African and European ministers meet in Niamey to combat migrant trafficking

16/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 16 March, ministers of the interior and foreign affairs from several African and European countries adopted a statement in Niamey, in which they commit to fighting migrant smuggler networks.  Niger is one of the main transit countries for African migrants aiming to reach Europe but, the UNCHR says, fewer migrants now arrive in Libya from there.  The conference brought together nine countries of the region (Niger, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso,...
