16/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 March, the European Centre of Employers and Enterprises providing Public Services and Services of general interest (CEEP) welcomed the European Commission proposal for the social fairness package and creating a European Labour Authority (ELA) (see EUROPE 1190, 11779) (EUROPE 11976). Valeria Ronzitti, the secretary general of CEEP, underlined the need to include social partners in the ELA's European Advisory Group. She also warmly welcomed the Commission recommendations to improve access to social protection. CEEP considers that the European semester and the open coordination method are good tools to ensure convergence between member states. (PH)
