EU announces additional €90 million in support to UNICEF

19/09/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 19 September, the European Commission announced the signature of a further €90 million in assistance to UNICEF.  This support, which comes from the EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis, will enable UNICEF to provide critical education and protection services to Syrian refugee and host community children in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, so that they can attend school.  This latest contribution brings the total funding from the EU Trust Fund for UNICEF's work on the Syria crisis response to nearly €200 million.  (CG)
