Brussels, 20/12/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 20 December, the Transport Council gave the go-ahead to signing an aviation agreement with Israel.
In 2017, the European and Israeli markets will have entirely and reciprocally opened up. This opening up is expected to be phased in. First of all, connections between Israeli and European destinations will become more frequent. Consequently, European and Israeli airlines will be able to operate corresponding flights from all destinations from these two areas. The agreement also includes the stipulation of fair market access conditions to prevail in order to ensure fair competition between the airlines concerned. European legislation will prevail, so that airlines are operated with a maximum of security and efficiency. (MD/transl.fl)
