Commission approves purchase of Viesgo, Endesa Europa and other Endesa activities in Spain by E.ON

Brussels, 19/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 19 June, the European Commission approved the acquisition of the Spanish company Viesgo, currently controlled by the Italian electricity company Enel, and of parts of the Spanish energy company Endesa S.A by E.ON AG of Germany. Through this transaction, E.ON will acquire control of Viesgo, Endesa Europa, which is active in France, Poland, Italy and Turkey, and a number of minor Endesa activities in Spain.
