Parliament backs adoption of revised directive on quality of surface water to gradually get rid of chemical substances

Brussels, 19/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - In Strasbourg on 17 June, the European Parliament backed tougher standards on the environmental quality of water so that by 20189, surface water in Europe will be virtually free of all dangerous chemical substances.
