Socialists have had enough of institutional debate and call on EU to take action to deal with real people's real problems

Brussels, 19/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - Party leaders and heads of government belonging to the Party of European Socialists (PES) met in Brussels on Thursday for a pre-summit meeting, where they urged the EU's leaders not to start a new reflection on institutional issues after the Irish no vote on the Lisbon Treaty but rather to urgently tackle real people's real problems, like loss of purchasing power, the financial crisis and rising oil and food costs.
