€12 million for Disaster Preparedness for Central America and Central Asia

Brussels, 13/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has decided to allocate €12 million in humanitarian aid to Central America and Central Asia, regions which are prone to natural disasters. Each region will receive €6 million, channelled through DIPECHO, the Disaster Preparedness programme of the Commission's Humanitarian Aid department, ECHO.

The funding will help local communities and finance a wide range of operations: infrastructure support, advocacy and public awareness-raising...
