Charlie McCreevy again criticises work on harmonisation of corporation tax band

Brussels, 13/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 9 February during a conference organised in Dublin by the Irish Institute on Taxation, Charlie McCreevy declared, “Higher taxes also feed fatter governments”. The European Commissioner for the internal market once again firmly opposed the ongoing European level work on elaborating a common corporation tax band (CCCTB). McCreevy believes that this approach should inevitably lead to a harmonisation of tax rates (EUROPE 9063).
