Brussels, 22/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday the Bulgarian minister for energy indicated that the Commission had given the green light for a Euratom loan of €300 million to fund part of the project for building a new nuclear plant in Bulgaria, whose costs are mounting to €3.99bn. This new plant will be replacing the two reactors at Kozlody, which Sofia is due to close down by 31 December at the latest, on the eve of Bulgaria's EU accession. (eh)
