Court of Auditors criticises Bulgaria and Romania's use of Phare programme funding

Brussels, 21/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Auditors has criticised the use in Bulgaria and Romania of Community funding from the “Phare” programme and advises the European Commission to be more realistic about programming funds to these countries. As part of the national Phare programmes for 2000-04, Romania received a total of € 1.4 billion and Bulgaria € 511 million.
