ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) publishing

Italian company MONDADORI (turnover of € 1.66 bn in 2005, national market share of 38.6% in periodicals), controlled by the FININVEST holding of Silvio Berlusconi, has bought out EMAP France (part of the British EMAP group; annual turnover of € 440 million), the third largest magazine producer in France, for € 545 million. EMAP FRANCE produces 43 different publications in France.
