Court of Auditors criticises way TACIS funds are used - Commission responds by recalling improvements made to programme

Brussels, 20/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 20 April, the Court of Auditors published a special report criticising the way TACIS (Technical Assistance for the Commonwealth of Independent States) funds have been used in favour of Russia. The European Commission stresses the improvements that have been made to the projects, and recalls the new European neighbourhood and partnership policy to be set in place from 2007.

The Court audited 29 projects which had been completed by the end of 2003....
