Security round table in Brussels on 10 May

Brussels, 20/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Security Round Table will meet in Brussels on 10 May at the headquarters of the Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to discuss issues relating to both internal and external security. The Round Table was initiated by Karl von Wogau (EPP-ED, Germany) chairman of the European Parliament's security and defence sub-committee, and Nicole Gnesotto, director of the EU Institute for Security Studies in Paris, to bring together top-level decision-makers to discuss issues related to internal and external security, between which there has been a blurring of the lines. Among those taking part in the Brussels meeting will be the Slovenian Interior Minister Dragutin Mate, Swedish Defence Minister Jonas Hjelm and Helga Scmidt Head of the Policy Unit at the Council of the EU.
