BNP PARIBAS has finalised the acquisition of a 51% stake in Ukraine's fourth biggest bank UKRSIBBANK, after getting regulatory approvals. Existing shareholders will remain with a 49% stake in UKRSIBBANK. The Ukrainian bank has a portfolio of more than 52,000 business client accounts and 1.6 million personal accounts, total assets of 2.1 billion dollars as of 31 December 2005, with loans of 1.54 billion, deposits of 1.03 billion and own funds of 200 million. It employs 9500 staff.
