19/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmChamEU) has presented its new guide, The EU Made Simple - All you need to know about the European Union - conceived for a broader public than its usual publications in order to contribute to a better understanding on the part of citizens of policies and institutions on both sides of the Atlantic. This latest edition of The EU Made Simple, introduced by Elain Cruikshanks, responsible for communication at AmChamEU with a foreword by European Commission Margot Wallström, responsible for communication policy, begins by recalling a little history and several topical issues, and by examining in passing certain allegations by Eurosceptics on the subject of an omnipresent EU. It describes the European institutions and the functioning of their complex decision-making process, and provides a brief dictionary of Community jargon as well as a concise Who's Who, which does not omit the great Europeans of the past.
