Brussels, 19/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Centre for Judges and Lawyers, the Luxembourg Antenna of the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), is organising a seminar on 11 and 12 May entitled “Latest Developments in European Family and Succession Law”. The seminar will provide a forum for discussion on the new Brussels regime governing matrimonial and parental responsibility matters. In particular, the new rules on child abduction and the right of parents and children to maintain regular contact will be analysed. Discussions will then focus on the latest developments regarding the law applicable to international divorces, matrimonial property regimes, maintenance, as well as the best way forward in the field of transnational successions. Last but not least, family mediation in cross-border disputes will be considered from a practical perspective.
