19/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - The committee on industry, research and energy of the European Parliament, which is chaired by British Conservative Giles Chichester, will this week kick off its examination of the amendments by Jerzy Busek (EPP-ED, Poland) on the seventh framework programme of research (2007-2013). The committee's vote on the report and the amendments will take place on 15 May and the plenary vote will follow in June or July, with the rapporteur still hoping for an agreement at first reading. Jerzy Busek also wishes to halve the number of amendments which make it to the plenary. 1274 amendments are currently on the table of the parliamentary committee.
