Australian investment and advisory firm BABCOCK AND BROWN placed on offer for Irish telephone operator EIRCOM on Friday. It is proposing 2.36 billion euro in cash (2.2 euro per share). It has already bought 28.8% of the capital on the market. EIRCOM's biggest shareholder is the EIRCOM ESOT TRUSTEE fund, which has 21.6% of the capital.
