Commission recommends excessive deficit procedure in Italy and calls for structural measures as of 2006 in order to return below 3% in 2007

Brussels, 29/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - As planned, the European Commission adopted on 29 June an opinion noting the existence of excessive deficit in Italy (Article 104§5), as well as two recommendations calling on the EU Council to do the same (Article 104§6) and making it an obligation to correct the situation in 2007 at the latest (Article 104§7).
