MEPs approve Commission's approach for simplification of VAT statements

Brussels, 23/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - The parliamentary committee on economic affairs has adopted the report by Laszlo Becsey (EPP-ED, Hungary) on the Commission's proposals aimed at simplifying value added tax (VAT) statements, by establishing a one-stop shop system, which is electronic and optional, and which would allow companies with crossborder activities to meet their obligations only in the Member Sates where they are established (see EUROPE 8821).
