Appeal from local bodies for climate change

Brussels, 23/06/2005 (Agence Europe) -Preparations for the G8 on 6-8 July in Gleneagles, Scotland, are afoot. The climate is on the agenda in an effort to bring the local authorities on board as partners in climate protection. These bodies include the Local Government Association (United Kingdom), the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CCRE), Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), Climate Alliance and Energie-Cités.
