Brussels, 23/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the European Parliament adopted by a comfortable majority (409 votes for, 89 against with 92 abstentions) the report of Giuseppe Gargani (EPP/ED, Italy) on MEPs' status, and subsequently made a decisive step in the controversial debate which began during the first European elections at universal suffrage in 1979.
