Brussels, 20/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Euro-Mediterranean economy and finance ministers met in Morocco on 19 and 20 June (in Skhirat, near Rabat). This meeting, the first of its kind, was followed on 20 June by the fifth Ministerial Committee of the Faculty for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership (FEMIP), which is managed by the European Investment Bank (EIB). On 20 June, the FEMIP bureau was officially inaugurated in Rabat, at a ceremony attended by the President of the Council of the EU, Jeannot Krecké, and the Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs, Joaquin Almunia. Discussions focused on the economic dimension of 10 years of the Barcelona process, the challenge is to be met by the Euro-Mediterranean region in the field of the economy, and the contribution of the European neighbourhood policy to improving the climate of investment.
