14/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - In a note sent out on 9 June the services of Commissioner Janez Potocnik illustrated the potential benefits in the 9th research programme (RDFP) on growth and jobs, particularly if its funding respected the doubling proposed by the Commission compared to the previous programme. According to the impact study carried out before the presentation of the proposal on 6 April, the doubling of the financial envelope could produce between 0.45% and 0.96% of additional growth. There would also be between 418,000 and 925,000 supplementary jobs resulting from the doubling of Community funding for research over the period 2007-13.
