THE DAY IN POLITICS / (eu) eu/constitution/youth

14/06/2005 (Agence Europe) - In a communiqué entitled “Two 'no's in four days, Quo Vadis Europe?”, the European Students' Forum (AEGEE) comments on the rejection of the European Constitution by France and the Netherlands, and asks political decision-makers to take a greater interest in the real concerns of their citizens and to “make an effort in order to inform their citizens better and not let their domestic problems and interests endanger the future of European integration”. AEGEE promises to use every means at its disposal to educate young people from an early age in the era of European citizenship and calls on governments not to “allow this setback to become an excuse for defeatism”.
