ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banks

BANCA INTESA, Italy's largest bank, is to take control (75% plus a share) of DELTA BANK, the second-largest bank of Serbia, for 277.5 million EUR. DELTA (assets of 691 million EUR in December 2004, net profit of 22 million EUR in 2004,144 branches and 400,000 customers). This operation will give the Italian bank 3.5 million customers and 650 branches in the region.
