Ministers ratify multi-annual programmes for eleven Member States and begin preparations for next European Council - Lorenzo Bini Smaghi to join ECB directorate

Brussels, 17/02/2005 (Agence Europe) - In January the Council proposed opinions on the multiannual programmes of Austria, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden and the Czech Republic (EUROPE 19 January p 8) and on Thursday it adopted, “without any problem and without and heavy going debate” opinions on the multiannual programmes of eleven Member States. The Council also ratified the Commission's decision on the good work carried out in five of these States (Ireland, Finland, Denmark, Estonia...
